Thorvald is graduated from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in 1984. He has more than 30 years of experience in industry and finance after leaving the the Navy in 1990. For a long period, he worked closely with the  Oslo Science Park to help finance start-up companies.

Thorvald has experience as of several growth companies and as board member of various companies.
